For the first time ever, the GLAAD Media Awards was held as a virtual ceremony, hosted by Fortune Feimster and Gina Yashere, with a special performance by Chloe x Halle!

The 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. Since its inception in 1990, the GLAAD Media Awards have grown to be the most visible annual LGBTQ awards show in the world, sending powerful messages of acceptance to audiences globally. Click here for a full list of nominees for the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Visibility of LGBTQ people has always mattered and this year it’s more important than ever. LGBTQ people – especially youth – are now forced to isolate in homes and spaces that might not be affirming. As a result, LBGTQ media images are even more of a lifeline for LGBTQ people.

This year’s virtual ceremony will announce award recipients of outstanding LGBTQ content across media and focus on the importance of LGBTQ visibility during this divisive cultural and political time. Special guests include the cast of Pose, Dolly Parton, Lil Nas X, Demi Lovato, Dan Levy, Rachel Maddow, Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade, Charli XCX, Cara Delevingne, Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jonica T. Gibbs, Gigi Gorgeous, Nats Getty, August Getty, Brian Michael Smith, Ryan O’Connell, Angelica Ross, Lilly Singh, Lena Waithe, Olivia Wilde, Raquel Willis, and more. Our hosts Fortune Feimster and Gina Yashere have amazing moments planned and there will also be performances from Chloe x Halle, Shea Diamond, and Ben Platt.
