Photos: Transgender rights supporters hold rally near Indianapolis Archdiocese building

The 2020 Rally for Equality Caravan, held across the street from the Catholic Center, home of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and near the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, was held on Saturday, July 11, 2020. The caravan protest looped around the building. The action was a partnership between The Ariadne Getty Foundation, Shelly's Voice, GLAAD, Indiana Youth Group, Dignity USA, PFLAG Indianapolis, GEKCO, Q+ Council, GenderNexus, Inclusive Cathedral Family and Allies, and The Ariadne Getty Foundation. The goal was to amplify trans voices, educate Hoosiers on LGBTQ+ needs, and demand full inclusion and protection of the LGBTQ+ community in Indiana schools.

“I’ve never taken any of this for granted,” the philanthropist tells me when she is read that quote from her grandfather. “I’ve never pretended that I made a penny in my life. I inherited this money and I’m a steward. I have to honor it. Actually, I have to honor my great-grandmother who set up the trust.
